My name is Janet and my love affair with Sri Lanka started when I left England and flew out here to spend a holiday with an old family friend. Five years and many more visits have only served to deepen the bond.
I was here during the best times of the tourist trade.
I saw the aftermath of the horrific Easter bombings in 2019 and a people trying to rebuild their lives
I have watched the devastating events of 2020 caused by the rapid and relentless spread of the Covid 19 virus across the world from the relative safety of my home here. We are now under curfew again and this has inspired me to start this blog and share my stories of this beautiful island, its smiling people and wonderful food.
