My love affair with Sri Lanka started when I flew out here to spend a holiday with an old family friend. Many more visits over several years have only served to deepen the bond.
I was here during the best times of the tourist trade.
I saw the aftermath of the horrific Easter bombings in 2019 and a people trying to rebuild their lives.
I have watched the devastating events of 2020 caused by the rapid and relentless spread of the Covid 19 virus across the world from the relative safety of my home here.
I lived here under curfew and this has inspired me to start this blog and share my stories of this beautiful island, its smiling people and wonderful food.
